A 2026-os költségvetés-elemzésből

74.2 milliárd Ft to run government IT infrastructure — the biggest named IT line, frozen.

Government data centres, networks, and infrastructure: the largest named operations line in the chapter's IT block, held flat so cost drift is stopped without disrupting the services it underpins.

Roughly 18,570 Ft per taxpayer per year — 74,168 millió Ft in IT infrastructure operations, where a decade of nominal freeze yields roughly 16 milliárd Ft in real-terms savings.

Amit látsz — és amit nem

The seen: the servers, networks, and data infrastructure on which government services run. The unseen: the accumulated procurement and contract overhead that grows in a no-competition environment — overhead the nominal freeze arrests without disrupting the services it supports.

Ellenvetés

"74 milliárd Ft sounds large but government infrastructure is complex — the cost is what it is."

Válasz

The cost is what the budget allows it to be. In a competitive market, infrastructure operators tender services and the client faces real alternatives. Government IT has neither: the internal client doesn't pay and the provider doesn't compete. A nominal freeze is the substitute for that discipline — it sets a hard envelope and requires the operator to work within it.

Share if you think 74 milliárd Ft in government IT should face the same cost pressure as any private operation.

Indoklás

Running the IT systems on which government administration depends — the operational and infrastructure lines — is a real support cost of functions that exist for other reasons. It is not itself a rights-protection function, but it is the unavoidable operating cost of the administration that delivers those functions, and it cannot be cut without disabling the services it underpins. The honest classification is Nominal Freeze: hold the lines flat, let real-terms erosion impose a steady efficiency discipline (roughly 20-25% real compression over a decade), and require the operator to absorb that through procurement and consolidation rather than through tariff growth. Government IT is a notorious soft-budget environment — costs drift upward because the internal customer does not face a price and the provider faces no competitive tender — so the nominal freeze is doing real work: it converts an open-ended cost into a fixed envelope the provider must manage within.

Átállási mechanizmus

Hold at nominal level. Real-terms erosion of roughly 20-25% over a decade imposed through the freeze. The operator absorbs this through procurement and consolidation rather than tariff growth.

Érintett csoportok
