Data controller

The data controller is the operator of the szabadtarsadalom.hu personal website, Balázs Fehér (a private individual). The site is run by a private individual under the name “Szabad Társadalom Intézet”, not by a registered organisation.

What data we process, for what purpose and on what legal basis

• Newsletter sign-up: email address. Purpose: sending newsletters and updates. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Retention: until consent is withdrawn (unsubscribe).
• Contact: if you email us, we process the data you provide (name, email, message) to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest and your request.
• Technical log data: the website is operated by the hosting provider (Netlify), which may process technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser data, access time) for operation and security. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in providing the service securely.

Processors and data transfers

• Netlify, Inc. (United States) — hosting and form-processing; the newsletter form is also processed by Netlify. Transfers to the third country take place with appropriate safeguards (EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses).

For web analytics we use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, European Union) — a cookieless tool that collects only aggregate statistics and stores no personally identifiable data (it does not retain IP addresses). We currently use no separate newsletter provider.

Cookies

The website may use only cookies strictly necessary for its operation (essential cookies). Our web analytics (Plausible) is cookieless: neither we nor third parties set tracking or marketing cookies. Because there are no tracking cookies, a separate cookie consent banner is not required. If in future we introduce technologies requiring consent, we will ask for prior consent through a cookie-management interface.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal). You can submit your request at info@szabadtarsadalom.hu.

Remedies

If you believe the processing infringes your rights, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:
